First timer here

So my son and I have, since he was even younger than he is now (4), always went out collecting bugs, then releasing them. He always wants to "keep" the "Rolly pollies". So I figured we'd give it a shot.

He likes the regular ones we have here in Michigan, but also likes the duck looking ones and the ones with spikes "like sonic" as well as just the orange ones, orange being his favorite color.

My question is a few actually. What ones would be easiest to care for? Tips in said care? And I set up a little terrarium after doing some research, and atmosphere im just letting the plants adjust while I figure out exactly what we are going to get and do going forward. So any tips for what ones to get/care and tips on the terrarium itself would be greatly appreciated.

Basics about what I used in the set up so far is really just on my gardening knowledge and a little bit of self research.

I placed like 10 bigger rocks at the bottom and filled up the rest with washed pea stone, and dried leaves on top. Then I followed that up with some Reptisoil, more leaves. Then a layer of Zilla jungle mix, more leaves. I also sprinkled in some of the reptile calcium powder. Followed by a mixed up layer of the Reptisoil & Zilla jungle mix. Let him decide where he wanted the 2 wooden structures, and the treat dish. Then while he went to his mom's for the night I stopped by the local nursery and got some ground cover succulents and placed some more leaves under the wooden structure that has lots of hide-e holes in it. Watered everything with the sprayer, cleaned up the sides, and here we are.

Any and all help/ suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Washout horror stories

We've all been there before. "Hey boss, weather man says rain, you sure about those trucks?" "Nah, looks clear on my end, trucks are 30 min out" So let's see them, I want to see the jobs you saved, the unsavable, and everything in between.

Storytime, pictures, big, or small. Let's hear/see the horror stories. Or maybe just one your surprised turned out as good as it did after the fact.

I'll go first, we usually work part time hours, 7am-7pm. It was about mid day (4pm) after tearing out and prepping when I got the call we were gonna place them back in. Rains on the forecast but not from the boss man's window. Truck shows up, place a few stretches of city walk in, quickly get it edged and rough relief joints, truck heads off to the next location for a few meters behind a industrial complex. No sooner then everyone leaves does the thunder and rain make its way in. So I button it all up with plastic, and wait it out. After about 30 min it turns to a sprinkle. I call a few of the guys to come back, tune it up a little, and have them babysit it till they can broom it while I head to the rest of the jobs at the industrial complex.

On the way over that way it starts to rain again pretty hard, I find out through a text nobody had any plastic or basic tools (half cocked i know) over there so the meter sidewalk patches with exposed faces are probably soaked by now. I get there and luckily the guy who usually dont do shit, did somthing after it started to come down pretty hard. He dumpster dove till he found some pallet wrapped plastic and managed to cover a few holes. The 3 jobs back there were pretty wet, but we're still "salvage-able". Anyways heres how the last one looked. Despite the free end of the day shower, turned out half decent.

Finish bucket

We've all used the 5 gallon buckets, smaller buckets, the old cure buckets, cat litter buckets, ect. But they always end up becomming a catch all for your tools mid-finish. So I decided to make a prototype. This one has some hooks for edgers/trowels, a handle in the back to slide in a hand float, and a spot to hold a dairy brush, all while keeping the actual bucket empty so you can access the water without moving all your stuff around and getting more Crete all over the place.

So im curious to see who else has made a little custom bucket rig to carry your hand tools around as your finishing throughout the day. Maybe steal some ideas for this prototype.
