Citadel Fixed Income & Macro Trader Phone Screen

Anybody else in the process for this role?

Seeing conflicting info online between the London and New york offices, so not sure how this 1R phone screen is going to look like. Does anybody know whether they're more focused on fixed income / macro stuff or regular quant prob / brainteasers?

Thanks!

251 vs 228

Is it worth it to take 21-228 after doing 15-251? Glancing at the homework it seems like 228 covers some pretty useful / important concepts such as recurrences, generating functions, and linalg related stuff not done in 251. Also, how goated is Po-Shen Loh as an instructor?

"When you dedicate so much time, and so much of your grade, to a single class, working on a single assignment, all to appease some diabolically cruel professor, you stop thinking clearly. You become paranoid. Iliano Cervesato has become something like Big Brother among us students. We are wary of doing anything which might even slightly contradict the rules. We are-- sometimes literally-- constantly looking over our shoulders with paranoid delusions that Iliano could be lurking behind every proverbial corner.

This may be the image that Iliano wants to convey, and it may be necessary to control the behavior of his students and ensure that they do not cheat; but I was always taught that it is often ethically superior to be respected rather than to be feared; though it is probably pragmatically superior on Iliano's part to be both respected and feared.

I do respect him. But, Jesus, do I fear him."

/S: THIS IS A SATIRICAL PIECE OF FICTION (probably) THAT IS NOT INTENDED TO REFLECT THE ACTUAL BELIEFS, OPINIONS OR STANCES OF CURRENT CARNEGIE MELLON STUDENTS.

This is a work of fiction. (most) Names, characters, businesses, places, and events are either the products of the author's imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any coincidence is purely coincidental.
