Advice - To Transfer or Not

Hi everyone,

Current Ross student here. I’ve maxed out my 5 CBSE attempts, and on one attempt I missed the passing score by just a few points. Ross is offering me the option to go back to the island, pay roughly another $25K for the semester, and take an alternative exam (possibly Kaplan or a customized NBME).

The other option I’m considering is transferring to Windsor, starting rotations, taking CCSE/Step 2, and then eventually doing CBSE and Step 1.

I’m really torn. My biggest concern with Ross is: what happens if I go back, spend another $25K, and still don’t pass their post-island course/exam? I’m not sure what options they would give me after that.

Has anyone been in a similar situation, transferred from Ross to Windsor, or gone through Ross’s alternative exam pathway after maxing out CBSE attempts? Would really appreciate any advice, please.

CBSE Transfer

Hi everyone,

Just need advice, student at Ross, got 61 (pass moved from 62 —> 63) on 3rd attempt. Other attempts lowered. School says pay for another sem come to the island take course take a cbse equivalent course. Given that there are private loans now, it is very difficult for me to afford another sem that is basically an elective sem to take the exam once again. Is there any carribean school anyone knows of that I can explore that might let me just prep for step 1 in the meantime to take it? Going to be 2 yrs off island now…
