Christian grandparents

Not sure if this post should be In another group - if so let me know!

Salam everyone
So for context I’m Muslim Arab and my husband is Mexican, now Muslim but previously grew up Christian.
My daughter is 3, and today at my in laws house I caught my daughter’s grandmother blessing her by putting a cross in her forehead with some liquid.
My in laws , from what I know, do not push Christianity on my daughter. They are respectful of the fact we are a Muslim family and know that we are raising the kids Muslim.

I confronted my husband politely about this and he got offended, and said that this is a very common cultural (not religious?) practice and she is simply just praying over her and giving her her blessing. He said he will not talk to her and if I want her to know then I have to be the one to have this conversation. So I need to know? Should I tell her I understand this is coming from a place of love but this is crossing some boundaries and if she wants to pray for her then she can do it In her head? Or should I say nothing and acknowledge that it’s harmless. I just don’t want my daughter to be confused growing up - it’s enough that she’s going to be around extremely Christian grandparents, I don’t need Christian things performed on her. Am I wrong? What would you do?

Thank you
