The Moon iconography

I've looked around a little bit on here and haven't seen anyone mention this but maybe I haven't looked hard enough. The moon iconography, seen on the antechamber door and the moon pendant, isn't a moon, it's a solar eclipse, the part that looks like a crescent moon is the sun and the negative space is the moon and the rogue moon pictured on the map in the classroom, with how the orbits works it doesn't make sense for the crescent part of the image to be the moon it has to be the sun.

There are a few things that I think this could be related to. The bottom right of the orrsphere has a picture of a circle that kind of looks like the sun with the rays coming off the edge of the circle. The note in the clock tower that says "dark days are coming fourth" during a solar eclipse the day gets darker maybe the eclipse can only be triggered on the fourth of every month. I have no idea what any of this could mean I'm just hoping maybe this could help someone more invested than I or maybe recontextualizes somethings.

Also a question about data miners, I'm aware they found a file called day 46 eclipse but they haven't found any trigger for it. Does that mean that there is absolutely no way to trigger it there's nothing in the code that triggers the eclipse or is there still a possibility of it being triggered and we just haven't discovered it?
