Back garden on the house we've not long moved into. Originally I turned the soil, put a fresh layer on top then completely blitzed it in seed (I'm no pro, not even amateur)

Left it to grow over the summer and just gave it its first cut.

Gardens in a bad spot, barely gets direct sunlight due to position and trees overhead plus I found a lot of clay going on.

Is mother nature doing her thing or anything I can do?
