Hiring Process Insight

Hey everyone,

I've been reading through the subreddit, so I feel like I know what the answer will be, but I wanted input from the community anyways.

Back in March, I had my second interview with LANL (TA-55 position). Behavioral interview that I think went well, no major stumbles, got along with hiring managers and the team. Before I graduated, hiring manager came back to my university to give a presentation on LANL, recognized me and even called on me during the presentation for my thoughts on the town and lab.

Found out in the after-presentation chat with her that interviews for the position would be going on until late April. It's now the beginning of June, and I haven't heard back from them. I did email the coordinator about two weeks ago with a request for an update on where the application process was at and didn't hear anything back.

At this point, I'm curious if I still have a chance at getting in. I've read the process can be quite lengthy, but I am feeling a little discouraged.

Ecoboost transmission failure

Hey everyone,

I bought my 2025 Ecoboost back in January of this year. Since then I’ve put 4.5K miles on it. Truck was driven lightly to and from school during my last semester, early oil change at 1.5K.

One day accidentally tapped the accelerator pedal in park and the truck rolled forward slightly. Afterwards, weird shifts began happening. Took it into the local dealer who said they couldn’t find the issue after two weeks (they also drove it 100 miles, but to be fair the truck didn’t do it either when I took the tech on a ride either). I took it back and Immediately it started doing it again. Got back home after graduation and the truck threw a powertrain malfunction. Different dealer in hometown,2 weeks later, 8k of work under warranty, and I got a new transmission. Tech said he pulled the old one and found metal broken off inside.

Just wanted to share my experience.

Company Experience

Hey everyone,

Looking to see if anyone has personal experience (or knows someone who does) with Mortenson or The Haskell Company? Looking for information on work culture, development programs, etc.
