Hi

I have a question about switching between universities on an F-1 visa with different I-20s

My situation: i need to enroll at one university, finish a program there, then enroll at another one about half a year later. How long does the I-20 transfer actually take once you're already in the US? A week? Two? I'd go to the DSO and inform them but how long would it then take to transfer my SEVIS record?
