Is Snow White a queen or a princess?

Snow White and David take back their kingdoms from the Evil Queen and King George. Despite that, they still aren't called Queen Snow or King James. They're only ever referred to as prince and princess on-screen.

For example:

  • Dr Whale says that David isn't "his prince" in 2x01
  • Captain Hook calls them "prince and princess" in 6x20

In 6x02, Snow White says they're in an "endless war" with the Evil Queen, after having spared her life instead of executing her. They captured Regina and willingly released her into exile, so I think it's fair to say they took both kingdoms and became the ruling monarchs.

Even if there was dispute about who was the rightful ruler, or they didn't have an official coronation, why wouldn't Snow White claim that she is the queen? Why wouldn't her army and people call her the queen?

Is she actually the queen or still just a princess?
