What is the actual workflow with this thing? (Google Air Fitbit)

I had a Fitbit Ultra back in 2012 it was a simple step tracker and I loved it. So I wanted to try this new device.

I already have Garmin, Strava, Runna, and Macrofactor. All of these purpose-built apps are better at doing what they were designed for. The only thing the Air has going for it is that it's way more comfortable for sleep tracking than my Fenix 6X.

But let's say I want to use it. I still need to bring something (watch, phone) to keep track of when I started, how far I went, and when I stopped.

At this point, I'm thinking I'll just wear the Air, not connect it to any apps, and continue to use the apps I'm already using. Will the Air just be my sleep tracker? Activity guesser? I've only had it for one day, but I'm struggling to figure out how to work it into, or simplify, my routine.

Thanks!
