Inspired by the new red scare

I'm sure this won't be controversial at all...

Zaleska's fully settled in

Handled her for the first time today since I brought her home. I'm paranoid about getting everything right since she's my first corn snake, but she seems super relaxed and comfortable 💛

Question about feeding a new snake

I just brought home my new baby corn snake, Zaleska, yesterday. She had a pretty stressful day at the expo, so she went and immediately burrowed into the substrate after having some water.

The breeder I got her from said to "wait a day" and then feed her, but she's still hiding in the substrate (although she did come out briefly last night). I have to go out of town for work tomorrow and won't be back until Friday.

If she's still stressed, should I wait to feed her on Friday? The breeder says he "always brings his snakes hungry and ready to eat," so I'm afraid to wait too long to feed her. But I also don't want to risk regurgitation, so I'm stumped 🤷🏼‍♀️

Any advice?

I carved a wand out of oak for Midsummer!

I'm not sure what made these markings, but I'm spellbound by them. Almost feels like ancient cave paintings or something.

I added the oak ogham to give it a personal touch, but I feel like this wand has so much character already that I don't want to add too much.

My Midsummer (eve) altar

I'm waiting on statues for the God and Goddess to arrive, so I had to improvise. Thankfully, my favorite oak tree gave me some leaves. Blessed Midsummer to you all ☀️

Also the pink, white, and blue candles are for pride in case anyone was wondering 🏳️‍⚧️
