15‑Day Peru Itinerary - feedback and tips please
Hi everyone! We’re heading to Peru for 2 weeks and would love your thoughts on our itinerary - pacing, logistics, and anything you’d tweak. We already have Machu Picchu tickets for Aug 26 at 2 PM, so that part is fixed.
Here’s our plan:
Aug 22 Arrive Lima early in the morning
Aug 23 Fly Lima → Cusco → transfer to Sacred Valley (Ollantaytambo)
Aug 24 Sacred Valley (Pisac, Moray, Maras)
Aug 25 Ollantaytambo fortress
Aug 26 Machu Picchu (2 PM entry), return to Ollantaytambo in the evening
Aug 27 Morning train to Cusco, explore
Aug 28 Rainbow Mountain
Aug 29 Fly Cusco → Puerto Maldonado (Amazon lodge)
Aug 30 Amazon: Sandoval Lake
Aug 31 Amazon: Macaw clay lick
Sept 1 Fly Puerto Maldonado → Arequipa
Sept 2 Colca Canyon day trip
Sept 3 Arequipa free day
Sept 4 Arequipa city → evening flight to Lima (airport hotel)
Sept 5 Fly home (early morning flight)
