A week in Vilinuis as an Australian tourist
Hello,
I'm travelling a very long way in about a month for a conference in Vilinuis. Part of the conference includes sight seeing and social activities around the city, so I'm keen to spend the 4 days I have before the conference starts seeing lesser known aspects of the city or travelling outside it altogether.
Looking for advice on:
+ Where would be good to spend a Thursday to Sunday sight seeing that wouldn't be included in a normal tour of the city (which I will get the following week)
+ Would it be worth it to go to Riga for the weekend? And what might be the best ways to get there and back across a long weekend?
+ any other tips for an Australian traveller to make the most of it, knowing it will be a 26 hour flight and I want to maximise all the time I have to soak up this other part of the world.
