Need an advice - resigned formally but cannot serve notice period
Hi all,
I formally tendered my resignation yesterday to a company I joined 2 weeks ago. The reason is unavoidable family emergency and I will be taking a sabbatical for 3-4 months because of the same.
While they accepted my resignation; they want me to serve 90 days notice period. If I could serve 90 days, I wouldn’t have resigned in the first place.
Anyway, I told them that I don’t need any FNF settlement from them but to kindly waive off my notice period.
I have been transparent with them from the very beginning and have communicated everything clearly.
My concern is if they don’t agree to waive off, what should I do? I have never absconded or done anything of those sorts ever in my 10 years of career. But looks like I will have to do it here. They haven’t created my PF yet.
