Genuinely, you can use Fringe to understand how Stargate's new series is likely to feel.

Fringe was a show that had the typical SG 1 length seaons until its final season where they were only given 13 episodes. So in many ways Fringe offers a glipmse into what happens to episodic Scifi when forced into a much shorter time frame.

It went from a broader story slowly playing out while we get to see each character slowly develope over different situations into a very linear storyline where we can expect some focus on character growth but it will unforuntely always take the backseat to moving the plot long.

The best example of this is Nina Sharp, a character I dont believe could work so well in smaller episode framework as it would need to make her interactions more common.

I dont think this means it will be bad but I do believe it means we will not really be able to build a sort of parasocial understanding of the new cast. If the show keeps one or 2 main cast members from the past then it will likely play out almost entirely in a fashion akin to Fringe season 5.

Edit: Those of you saying you havent seen Frine, you disapoint me! It has P90s!
