We are not Haryanavis
Please read the entire post, it's long, but it'll be worth your time.
I am making this post cz I see people making posts showing how uncivilised Haryanvis are, and they still don't get hated.
I don't disagree with the point being made, but we need to understand that we ain't Haryanavis, using Haryanvis as examples is useless. I'll come to why it's useless in a while.
Well, first off, y'all need to understand that we’re hated in this country in almost every corner.
But the thing is, the hatred we receive isn't even the same everywhere.
For ex- a Bihari was murdered in Delhi a few weeks ago. This didn't happen just because we're poor. The murderer was a Jaat, and Punjabis/Haryanavis, especially Jaats, have always had deep-rooted hatred for Purbaiyas (region eastwards of west UP). The hatred for Bihar is ingrained in them. They're practically taught to look down upon Bihar and Biharis from childhood.
A lot of this goes back historically too. The first war of Independence had strong roots in Bihar while Jaats were heavily recruited by the British against us. They've always viewed us as inferior, partly because Bihar, as a whole, is physically less imposing on average, and also because we tend to be darker-skinned than them on average.
The hatred we get from the South isn't the same "you're beneath us" type of hatred that you often see from Punjabis, Haryanavis, etc. In fact, any state below us is more AASI shifted and hence, darker on an average, so they're not really capable of using it as a slur except may be in their own states.
Anyways, the biggest reason "Biihari" even became a slur in mainstream usage is cz Punjabis and Haryanavis normalized using it that way in Delhi, and from there it spread everywhere else.
Back to "why using Harayanvis as examples is useless in our case".
I've already explained this. They're better looking (Eurocentric standards) and much physically imposing, so even if they are uncivilized they can get away wid it. In fact, even if they were poor, they'd still get away wid it due to (height+looks). Sed, but true. So, it's useless to put ourselves in their position.
Way forward for us is to, disassociate from the Indian identity (I don't feel bad when India is abused internationally, I don't care. ) and strongly identify as a Bihari, or just be hyper subnationalist even if you're a nationalist ( I am a big strong good looking lad, guess those steppe genes are playing a role, and I never shy away from introducing myself as a Bihari. Even when they ask where I am from, I say, "I am a Bihari". At least the next time some North Indian doesn't say, " you don't look like a Bihari").
If you have to live with dignity then your smaller identity( say Bihari) which is a part of a larger identity (Indian say) should be strong enough. Excessive focus should be put here. I love how Ishan, Saqib, Vaibhav, they never shy away from calling themselves a Bihari, in fact, they mention it every chance they get)
Bihar has to grow economically. We have to focus on our kids's physical health. 30-40℅ kids are physically stunted here. The avg height has to grow. Wealth and the increase in avg height would stop 99.99℅ hatred.
So these are the things we need to focus on.
