Our Financial Accounting & Auditing lecturer gave us a challenge.

He said: if a student asks him a question that he cannot properly answer, that student will get the highest mark in the class.

So now we are trying to find the hardest possible question in accounting / auditing / IFRS / IAS / financial reporting — something that is deep, tricky, or even borderline philosophical, but still related to the subject.

We are not looking for basic questions. We want something that:

has no clear perfect answer, or

creates contradiction in standards, or

challenges accounting theory, assumptions, or auditing limits

If you have any “unanswerable” or very deep accounting questions, please drop them.

Let’s see what can actually break a lecturer’s answer.
