Reduced my reps, got stronger faster

Reduced my reps, got stronger faster

I reduced my reps from 8-12 down to 6-8. My general strength increased a lot faster. Have you guys tested this and what was the optimal amount of sets then? I stuck with 4 sets per exercise

I noticed that every time i reduce the amount of sets per workout i stop gaining strength. Keep up with your sets!

Im trying to track different parameters such as workouts per week, PR, general strength. But what else are you guys tracking and what works for you?

At first I thought increasing how often I trained each week clearly improved my strength. More sessions = more progress. But this was only true up to a point.

After a certain number of workouts per week, progress slowed or plateaued. Even though I was doing more, I wasn’t getting stronger any faster.

It seems like there’s a personal “sweet spot” where frequency helps, but beyond that you’re just adding fatigue without real gains.

Now I’m trying to find that exact balance that I think is 3 times a week for me. 29M

Have you ever noticed something similar?

I just managed to do 65kg x 10 reps in bench press, hope long did it take you guys to rep 100 kg and what was your routine towards that?
