Help with Patio Covering & Floor plan
Hello! We recently bought this house in the DFW area and are exploring options on what we want to do with the patio. It’s a large space, about 700sqft (37ft long x 20ft deep), but the windows and contours of the house have us stumped on how to lay it out.
The existing pergola is rotting and needs to come down. It’s over 25years old judging by old listing photos.
We want three defined spaces, one for dining, one for a fireplace/TV area and one for a cooking area with countertop space and a space for the Kamado Joe (I built the existing grill stand at our previous house, using as a temporary solution for now).
For the patio covering itself, we want it to be fully roofed to keep rain, leaves, etc. out and want motorized screens that we can drop to keep out bugs. There are tons of mosquitoes, mud daubers, wasps in this area. One concern is that the back of our house relies heavily on the sun from the back yard, so we may have to do skylights or solar tubes to bring in light to the patio.
