Graduated in Econometrics/Data Science, working as quant, considering CQF—worth it?
Hi all, I recently graduated in Econometrics and Data Science from UVA and currently work as a quant at a small study investment fund. I want to break further into quantitative finance roles, but I’ve noticed I often get filtered out of ATS because I don’t have a master’s or PhD. I’ve been thinking about doing a Master’s in Quant Finance, possibly at Erasmus, but I’m running into financial constraints. Recently, I heard about the CQF (Certificate in Quantitative Finance) and I’m curious about how well-known, prestigious, and valuable it actually is in the industry. Of course, I’d prefer a master’s if possible, but given my finances, I’m weighing whether CQF could be a reasonable alternative to help me get noticed and break into more competitive quant roles. Would love to hear your experiences or advice on this!
