150 € for left bumper :(
I own a day 1 Steam Deck LCD 256GB model, after 4 years of on and off usage the left bumper stopped working. I thought maybe the bumper itself broke and I ordered a replacement from ifixit. Turns out the button on the board ripped off and was lose inside the case. I reached out to valve support and they said they expected the failure way earlier and even if my device is out of warranty they would fix it for free. I sent the package to valve repair service and they just sent me a quote over 150 euros. The board itself is flawlessly working, it’s just the bumper button that broke. I read it’s hard to replace in DIY, also I am pretty bad at soldering. In games I can use the back buttons as replacement but well it really sucks. 150 bucks for a small issue and also probably a design failure on their side. I found a seller on eBay (from Czech Republic where valves repair service for steam deck is located haha ;)) - he sells these boards for about 50 euros but the model does not match exactly, he sells DAF7ATH16DO REV: G and F, my revision is DAF7ATH16FO Rev F - anyone did a swap with that combination ? As I read about the needed calibration I am scared that this board won’t fix my issue
