Title: Do I need a distance certificate immediately for hostel application after KCET admission?

I will be going to my college for admission through the KCET 2nd round, and I expect to get my seat/admission in the 2nd round itself.

I wanted to ask about the hostel application process. After completing admission, do we need to apply for the hostel immediately? More importantly, is a distance certificate required at the time of hostel application itself?

If I don't have the distance certificate on the day of admission/hostel application, can I apply for the hostel first and submit the distance certificate later?

For example, can I return home after admission, get the distance certificate within a few days, and then submit it to the college/hostel office?

If anyone has recently gone through the hostel admission process, especially for UVCE, please let me know how it works and whether the distance certificate is required immediately.

After the admission to any branch in the University of Visvesvaraya araya College of Engineering by round 1 or round 2, when will the 2026 first-year class start? Please somebody tell me: after admission do we have to go home or do we have to stay there?
