Does mucus decrease?

I am almost 3 weeks post op for an end ileostomy, ive got all my colon removed but still kept my rectum so I knew i would have mucus, however at first id go daily and pass a bit, then every two days and now it seems like I can go longer without passing it, is this something I should worry about?

What is normal? Re: output

I am 10 days post op and Ive noticed my ileostomy doesn’t seem to be as active as others, for example if I have breakfast at 8 i do put out a little output but it wont come out until immediately after I have lunch at 1, and then lunch wont come out until immediately after I have dinner at 6. The dinner comes out through the night. Im anxious because I got an ileostomy due to my severe colonic inertia and Im scared of my small intestine also having motility problems, but i have gotten no guidance from my doctor, is this something normal?

How do you get over food fear?

Hi! Im just 5 days post op for a total colectomy and everything has been going as well as it can be going, a little pain the meds don’t take care of, caution when laughing/burping due to open abdominal surgery, the works.

So the thing is, i had severe colonic inertia that led me to develop a pain disorder around my anus, and therefore i would eat as little as humanly possible so the day after when I had to poop it wouldn’t be too much (still spent 4+ hours in the bathroom anyways) but now my doctor is telling me I need to eat more so I can be discharged but im really scared of something clogging my stoma or something. Seems like the food fear is not gone but I also would love to go home and eat like a regular grown woman again.

So… idk, any advice from other ppl that had to heavily restrict their intake beforehand? Thank you 🫶

Open total colectomy in 3 days, any advice?

Hi, so my surgeon originally planned for total colectomy with an end ileostomy through a laparoscopic approach, however she ended up rescheduling my surgery for this Thursday, now saying an open approach would be better due to how dilated my colon is likely to be. Not gonna lie, the concept of open surgery scares me more than a laparoscopy (I've had a few laparoscopic surgeries before), and I don't know what to expect. Any advice or words of encouragement will definitely be welcomed.

Colonic Inertia is ruining my mental health

tw: suicidal thoughts

I'm sorry if I didn't mark this correctly for triggers, I'm new on reddit.

I have really severe colonic inertia with pelvic floor dysfunction. I have a total colectomy with ileostomy scheduled for mid June, but I seriously don't know how I'm going to survive till then. I spend 4-12 hours in the bathroom a day, depending on how bad of a day it is. I take medication, do enemas, I'm already nearing malnutrition from how little I'm eating due to the discomfort, I'm dropping weight like crazy and have been for 11 months (I was lucky it only became an issue this close to the solution) I scream and cry in the bathroom every single day from the idiopathic pain disorder I developed around my anal area due to this. Every single day is suffering. I spend so much time sitting in the bathroom because the tenesmus and urges are so bad, my buttcheeks are cut to hell from the toilet seat. Every day I wake up dreading all the medication and shit I'm gonna have to do to be able to use the bathroom and eat that day. Sometimes I ask the universe not to wake me up the next day. I have a full-time job that's fortunately remote, I would've quit if I could afford it, but working from the bathroom, stopping my tears to answer calls... I would rather die.
