Blank Check Camera Purchase - What Would You Choose?

(1) Budget, country, and currency:

7-8k high range, probably will end up being around 4-6k. I'm an amateur photographer seeking a significant upgrade. US, USD $

(2) What equipment, if any, you have now and why is it no longer meeting your needs?

Olympus OM-D. Screen on it broke and it's still usable. I have been really frustrated with using my digital camera in low-light situations. I am not opposed to getting a tripod at some point, but I love the situational elements of street photography.

Here are some brief thoughts:

  • I think that the Sony A7IV might be the most practical option for me, given (from my understanding) the flexibility and affordability of its lenses. But because of reasons, I want to make sure that I am pushing above the price of the camera body itself so it falls into the 7k bracket. Are there any recommendations for what kind of lenses I might want if I opted for this, or any better alternatives?
  • I've been really curious about dipping my toe into medium-format photography. I suspect that this format isn't ideal for the kinds of photography I enjoy the most. On the other hand, the kind of photos that I really want to take are medium- or large-format photos, so I am willing to learn and adjust. Is a Hasselblad worth it? I would rather go digital than have to pay for film in these formats, so this is a one-time deal.
  • This might be my only opportunity to get a Leica. Is it worth it? If so, what kind should I get? I've always thought it would be funny owning a Leica, but I would never buy one myself. More importantly: if I got a Leica, I might not be able to afford lenses. Any thoughts here?

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot?

Street and Portrait. I'm interested in medium-format photography.

(4) Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both?

Photography
