In need your help. I discovered water under horse stall mats in my garage gym last week. The water was dark brown and smelled horrendous. The mats were quite dirty because they were used on in a bare apartment garage prior.
In hindsight, I should’ve put a barrier down between the epoxy and mats but I didn’t know better as a first time homeowner and think this is probably plasticizer migration and maybe mold given the moisture and dirt.
Top coat is polyaspartic.
I’ve scrubbed it aggressively with a nylon brush with different things- simple green, isopropyl alcohol, baking soda, non seem to really make a difference.
I think maybe it’s getting lighter day by day by letting it dry and breathe?
I’m close to going full nuclear on it to fix my mistake but I might end up making the situation worse.
