Newest models and launch day support in Zoo Code v3.78

🦓 Zoo Code v3.78 is here!

This release brings three major new models, NanoGPT provider support, and stronger provider and task reliability.

✨ What’s new

Three major new models have arrived: Gemini 3.7 Flash, Qwen3.8 Max, and GLM 5.3 with launch day support, made possible through new collaborations with leading AI labs.

DeepSeek V4 updates: Improved reasoning mappings, corrected pricing, and expanded provider coverage for the V4 Pro 0813 checkpoint.

NanoGPT provider support: Connect with dynamic model discovery, streaming and prompt completions, and routing preferences for speed, price, latency, throughput, tool support, and caching.

More reliable Azure OpenAI setup: Resource endpoints are normalized correctly, with clearer Azure-specific guidance in settings.

Safer task history: Task titles are preserved when navigating rapidly before messages finish loading.

Correct Kimi Code limits: Output-token defaults and server-provided model limits are now handled correctly.

Cleaner settings migration: Zoo now uses zoo-code-settings.json as the default import/export filename.

Wider Destructive Command Guard support: DCG now works on Intel-based Macs.

Plus security updates for undici and Mermaid, telemetry improvements, provider-identifier architecture work, and a broad shared test-utilities rollout.

Zoo Code Celebrates 100k Downloads!

In only 8 weeks, the Zoo Code community has grown to 100 000 users of the coding assistant made for developers who want full control of their AI tools.

Thanks to all users, contributors, and community members on Reddit: /r/ZooCode and

Discord https://discord.gg/SfHYG44NUA

In preparation for the next 100k users, we are getting ready to consult the community to decide what should be prioritized in the development.

As another milestone, we are preparing to launch the Zoo Gateway, similar to Openrouter, from where you can run models, with exclusive free preview access to unreleased models and more configurability than any other inference provider. We are soft launching it today to people who have the latest version of the extension installed. All you need to do is create an account from the icon in the bottom right corner of the extension and you will find the 200+ models we have available.

The next few weeks will be an exciting time in the Zoo universe. Please invite all your friends and colleagues to join us. They'll thank you for showing them the only open-source coding assistant where the user is fully in control.

Hello world,

I am a member of the new team, which will take over the development of Roo (as Zoo Code) and wanted to introduce our team to the community. We've been at this just for a few days and have been collaborating with the Roo team to make the transition as smooth as possible.

As this will be a community effort, I'd like to invite anyone who is interested in contributing in any way, even non-technical contributions (logo, triage, etc). Please DM me and I can invite you to the Discord

We'll be setting the priorities as a group soon (so join us if you want to be heard), but they are likely to be:

- Stability

- Smooth transition

- Model / Provider support

- Feature parity with similar tools

- Interesting / Unique features

- UI / Ergonomics

- Performance / Efficiency

P.S. if you've seen other posts talking about a community-led effort to continue the development of Roo, that's us, we just have a new name: Zoo Code.
