I am really wondering about the IUOE (International Union of Operator Engineers) surveyors. I see that they offer apprenticeships as a surveyor. I see they make significantly more money getting prevailing wage doing construction surveying.

I am a Surveyor in Training working towards licensure. I feel like this would be a bad route for more since it is only construction staking.

Do the professional land surveyors shit on the IUOE surveyors? How can the IUOE surveyors practice surveying in the union without being under the guidance of a professional surveyor, isn’t this illegal? what is everyone’s thoughts on this? I’m genuinely curious.
