Hi all, forgive me for any formatting issues I’m on mobile.
I went out to my garden bed tonight to pick some fresh mint for my mojitos and I was shocked. There were hundreds if not thousands of these little garden millipedes. There were also a few worms and roly-polys, but every little brown ‘stick’ in this picture is a millepede, it’s unsettling. My other garden bed had only a handful.
Things to note: it rained yesterday night and this morning. The garden bed that has this infestation also has better soil, it’s the same mix but it grows vegetation better. I’ve never seen as many millipedes when I go out for random late night gardening as I did tonight. I also still have to finish cleaning and aerating after the winter, I’m in the northeast and it only just started getting warm enough to begin my adventures.
I’m not sure if i should do anything or leave it, I just want opinions on anyone who has gardened for longer than I have. This is my second year and my first year went great, so I’m trying to keep it going successfully.
