Student research project: looking for someone connected to Appalachian storytelling/cultural heritage
Hi guys!
If you remember me from my recent google forms on how storytelling has shaped the image of Appalachia in the American national imagination, I'm back...
Recently, I’ve become especially interested in the more cultural aspect of Appalachian communities through storytelling, oral history, music, and heritage work.
As part of my curriculum, I’m required to partner or exchange with someone from the United States connected to the topic I am researching. I’ve tried contacting a few storytellers and organizations through emails, websites, and Facebook groups, but I unfortunately haven’t received many responses yet, so I thought I would try reaching out here directly.
If anyone works in cultural preservation, folklore, oral history, storytelling, archives, or related fields or knows someone who does and would be open to a short exchange or a few questions, I would be incredibly grateful.
If interested, please feel free to let me know through Reddit chat or comments. Thank you so so much for your time!
