Right from the beginning, there’s something going on with the rhythm section. It’s very clear at the beginning and end of the song. To me, it sounds like someone rubbing a balloon. Reekah reekah reehah. Is it turntable scratching? Grinding a pick along a guitar string?

It’s a cool effect, whatever it is. I just can’t figure it out cos I’m not a musician.

Lougle lists the instruments used, but if anyone can clarify with a bit more detail on how that sound was produced. Thanks!
