Thoughts on my DST Strategy for ‘26
Most of the teams in my league stream Defenses for the early - middle part of the season. I was hoping to adopt a strategy thats a hybrid of holding and streaming. I wanted to draft a defense that has a good combination of scheme/personnel and matchups until their bye. Once their bye comes, I offload them and pick up the best defense available. Ideally, I would land a good defense with no more byes, but otherwise I would repeat until no byes are left. I believe this would ensure I am first in line most weeks to get any top waiver wire adds.
Thoughts on my strategy? My league is quite small at 8 people, and last season was the first time we did FF, but we’re hoping to increase it to 10 or 12, if that matters at all. We have 11 starters and 5 bench spots in the league, which is why I’m opposed to benching a defense. Even with more spots, most people believe benching a defense is a waste. If this is viable strategy, which defenses would work the best for this?
