€2/€2 game, I have about €450 behind. V covers.

UTG opens to €8, UTG +1 calls. I have AKo in UTG +3 and 3-bet to €54 (meant to do €44 but picked up one additional chip). Only +1 calls (he is a strong, experienced player who is capable of strange maneuvers).

Flop is JJ4 rainbow. V checks and I bet €42. He raises me to €92 and I call.

Turn is a brick 3. V bets €60 and I fold.

He told me after the hand he had 77.

  1. Should I check back on flop? Smaller sizing like €26 or so?
  2. When he raises, what does he really have? I reckon most often 55-99, so it's a bit of a semi bluff.
  3. With a down-bet on a brick turn, can I find any raises/shoves here to fold out exactly those middling pocket pairs? In retrospect, folding seems better than calling but not sure if better than raising and applying pressure to his range.

Was not happy with this hand, I saw most of my profits from the day erased.
