Propel seat post battery install

hi

not sure if this is the right place to ask

received my propel MY27 frame set and trying to install di2 battery into the seat post. it’s the latest non-SL, so I think vector seat post. after a lot of searching I can’t find any instructions for this bit online specific to this seat post.

is the attached image the correct way to install it?

its very tight going in with the shims but without the shims it flops around. are the clamp and adhesive padding in the right place?

and it seems like I don’t need the di2 battery washers?

thanks

Giant Defy vs Propel

Hello

Currently have a Defy Pro 2022 with 105 mech and looking at buying a Defy Pro 2026 frame and full Dura Ace di2 groupset. The other option I’m considering is a 2026 propel (not 2027) frame and building that up.

Riding the Defy I had it fit to me and it rides pretty comfortably for 120-160km rides. All my rides are 70km+ unless I’m indoors on the trainer or during winter I might cap at 50-60km if it’s cold.

Now I’m getting stronger I partly want to be slightly lower and longer. I’m toying between putting a 110mm stem on the 2026 Defy Pro frame or just getting a 2026 Propel Pro frame.

However my Defy fits pretty well and I am tempted to build up a new one but just with a longer stem.

How significant would fit differences be?

My biggest concern is pressure on my hands. I am running I think 20mm spacers at the moment on the 2022 Defy but if I remove a couple mm then I notice hand pain after about 60 mins. I can’t tell if it means I am just too hunched over (179cm with ML frame).

Keen to hear thoughts!

thanks
