I was recently diagnosed with Essential Tremor and I’m wondering if there are any other potters/ceramicists in this sub that would be willing to share your experience. My tremor is mild but it greatly affects my ability to throw on the wheel. It’s been frustrating and devastating… and I’m still learning how to navigate and accept this diagnosis.
I’m new to engraving and I’ve been practicing with my gravermax… I’m getting chatter marks in the lines. The bottom two lines were cut with a 90 degree graver and the top were flat gravers. How do I fix this?
I shaped the gravers during a class that I took but we didn’t learn bright cut, so the gravers aren’t polished to a mirror finish. We created the heel with a 1200 grit disc.
I tried using a ceramic wheel in my micromotor to polish one of my flat gravers and failed miserably. I’ll have to reshape the face in order for that one to even be able to cut again. I can’t figure out how to polish the heel and keep the accuracy of the 15 degrees.
