Popping sound coming from apartment ceiling
Hello, I am living on the top floor (3rd floor) in my apartment complex. I've been hearing this popping sound throughout the morning usually after the sun has been up for a couple of hours. The noise usually stops at about 1pm or so but will start right back up around 7pm when the sun is going down. The noise sounds a lot worse and louder at night and is only happening in my bedroom and nowhere else in my unit. Some days this happens every 5 to 10 minutes but other days it will happen like every 15 to 20 minutes or so throughout the morning and night. Also, this noise is NOT timed to the A/C cycling on and off.
This is starting to drive me insane because I keep getting woken up throughout the night and can be extremely difficult to fall back asleep. Already tried getting maintenance to fix it but they can't figure out what it is and have stopped trying to identify it. Property manager has been no help either in trying to resolve this.
Does anyone know what this could possibly be and what steps to take next? Am I able to break the lease without penalty due to violation of a tenant's right to "peaceful living?"
Edit: I forgot to mention that this noise also happens when I open my bedroom door especially when it gets cold at night and has been fully closed for a while.
