I’m a PhD student (R1) and I work at my university’s writing center. Today one of my colleagues in the writing center had an appointment with a sophomore undergraduate. I could tell instantly that there was some tension, but the student writer crashed out when he said “MY PROFESSOR WANTS ME TO PUT ALL MY CITATIONS IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER, AND I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT!!”

Folks…the assignment was only 350 words
