Here’s a quick clip of me playing that mystery parlor guitar I picked up at the thrift the other day. Thanks again to everyone who helped ID and share thoughts/info on it—I really appreciate it.

My playing’s not totally up to snuff yet, but I wanted to follow up with how it actually sounds. Thanks all!

Picked up this little parlor guitar at a thrift this week for $15 and couldn’t pass it up despite some hard living.

It’s pretty nondescript, no brand or label anywhere. The only marking I can find is a red rubber stamp inside that just says “122.”

From some Googling, I’m wondering if it could be a 1940s–50s Regal, Harmony or something similar - perhaps a bit earlier. Looks like birch stained to resemble mahogany, which I’ve seen mentioned on some older parlors. Though I haven’t found anything with 122 listed or that matches the headstock shape.

Curious if anyone recognizes any details or can help narrow it down further. Thought I might try my hand at fixing it up but before doing anything thought I ought to see if I could learn more first.

It’s definitely seen some life. There is a rough crack repair on the side that’s been glued and cleated, but despite that it actually has a nice ring and holds tuning better than I’d expect. High action further up. Tuners are open back and the saddle is brass or something similar. The nut is wooden. Ladder bracing inside. Pins missing, and some wood chips wedged in to hold the strings as a shoddy repair.

Thanks for any help!

Edit: neck is thick, with a soft V shape I’d say.
