I just moved into this house and this is my first time with gardening really. This is west facing ( kind north west actually) I’m zone 8b, and these been have been over grown with grass and weeds. I want to plant now I bought some lavender and Purple Heart, but I wanted to ask for y’all’s recommendations like if I should do soil prep or if it’s fine, and any other plant recommendations that would go with those? I also bought a sprayer so I could make a natural grass and weed killer for the remaining in the beds.
