The bus ride to lackland

When getting to Lackland for BMT who rode with coach??
I remember like feeling a lil dread and anxious but man all that went away on that bus ride and this man called coach(his nickname) gave us the most hype prep talk and man we were amped after that and ready to get going
As the senior MTI stepped on the bus and asked are yall ready we yelled “YES SIR” and it caught him off guard and man it made BMT

Prior Air Force with RE Code 2C — Army ROTC/Commissioning Question

I’m prior Air Force and separated with an RE Code 2C. The reason was failure to progress in my on-the-job training.

I was in a maintenance AFSC, and honestly, it was not a good fit for me. That does not excuse anything, but I recognize now that I should have handled the situation better and taken more ownership at the time.

There were also personal factors going on during that period. My dad died from an overdose a few years ago, and I do not think I had fully processed that grief. I was also dealing with isolation, poor coping habits, and some mental health struggles. Again, I’m not saying that to excuse the outcome — just giving context for where my head was at during that time.

Since separating, I’ve been going to school, improving myself physically, and getting myself into a better place overall. I’m interested in serving again, but this time through the Army officer route, preferably Army ROTC while finishing my degree.

My question is: has anyone seen prior Air Force enlisted with an RE Code 2C successfully get accepted into Army ROTC or commission into the Army?

I know it will likely depend on my discharge characterization, separation code, waiver requirements, medical review, and the ROTC program’s decision. I’m mainly looking for realistic insight before I start reaching out to cadre/recruiters.

Should my first step be contacting the Army ROTC recruiting officer at the school, an Army recruiter, or both?
