Lebanese people hate each others abroad
I have a colleague who is Lebanese who often suddenly attacks me and tries to set me up at work.
I’ve been in France much longer than she has, and she’s only been here for a year.
Every time I try to talk to a colleague, she interrupts mid-sentence. She tries to take over everything and steal my tasks.
Today, we were discussing something with my manager, and I told her that I’m gonna do X because my manager asked us to do it, and she agreed.
For context, my manager asked us to collaborate.
Later on, she shouted from her desk not to do it because she needed to finalize something. I said I didn’t understand and asked her to explain. Our manager confirmed that what she was referring to was already finalized.
She didn’t like my answer and continued shouting and raising her voice in front of everyone, including my manager.
I ignored her, then I asked another colleague about something related to the project. She came over and said, “Didn’t I tell you not to work on that?”
I was surprised and felt embarrassed in front of my colleague. I couldn’t handle it and asked her to speak respectfully and that it wasn’t her business what I was asking him about (it was literally not related to what she was working on).
When things escalated, my manager took us aside privately to discuss it. He later told me that she doesn’t know how to speak respectfully.
I have literally never seen someone so confrontational and attention-seeking.
Then she took the rest of the week sick leave, and guess who finished the deliverables? Me.
I’m not going to engage with her anymore! But this is my lebanse colleague.
