Why is my 4 week old tank not showing any nitrate levels when testing?
My tank has been up and running since the 14th of April. When I started the cycle I just added fish food and then after a couple of days I added ramshorn snails. On the 2nd of may I added 8 white cloud mountain minnows on the 3rd of may there was an ammonia spike so I did a water change. Since then I have been testing for nitrates and everytime it has been at zero or undetectable amounts. The plants have been growing well since day one. The fish are also fine im just wondering why my nitrate levels would still be a so low I feed the fish nearly everyday a small amount. Is this a problem that my nitrates are so low or will it be fine to add more fish 2 weeks after adding the first lot. Also this tank is 140litres it has a canister filter and an air stone.
