Interview in a few months!
Hello,
There is no official date, but I have been notified I will be having an interview in a few months.
I have zero experience, although I did pass the apitude test and all the staff I have met with seem to really like my personality. The few times I have spoke with them, ive tried my best to be interactive and engaged. It seems like the others tried their best to avoid eye contact and get out of there as soon as possible.
I have been struggling very hard to find a related job in my area, or find something that can help me gain experience. No success, but ive worked customer services for many years. To be honest, I would like to do a little something that could help me stick out. A lot of the people in the ordination/testing center were already experienced electricians for years! Some were ex-military.
Should I try home projects? Small low-voltage course before interview? The most ive done was change out bulbs in my car once or twice.
I feel very meek about this. I am also female if that increases my chances of getting chosen (I have heard that it increases chances a lot, although there were a few other females in the orientation). The union i am applying to isnt exactly huge, the orientation i went to (1/3) had 20 ish people. Also cant even find any posts about it here on reddit lol.
I have seen many posts about the questions they ask, topics they delve into, the methods of question, etc. I am confident I can answer the questions the may ask with ease, but considering my circumstances, does anyone have advice for me? Thanks guys
