Beginner - Finally starting!!
Yesterday I bit the bullet and bought a XP-Pen Deco 01. I don't know why drawing on paper never really appealed to me, but I was still interested in drawing nevertheless so glad I finally get to start.
Got it today and would thought it would be fun to get my "zero point" where I started from. No tutorials yet, just a reference/inspiration pic on the other monitor. I think this would be fun to come back and see where it all started from. I haven't drawn in years, like probably last time was some mandatory high school project.
Would like some feedback, maybe some direction too if possible to get better at this kind of art style for someone literally just starting out. Will probably dive into this sub to see recommendations and stuff now, but part of the fun here was to see where I start without doing any of that yet.
Things I noticed:
- Hair. This is hard, I wasn't sure how it's suppose to flow or make it seem less flat. Will need to look into that eventually
- Face. The shape and symmetry was difficult. I am also not sure on the proportions, but I think this was a good attempt. Will also look this up too.
- Pencil. The tablet here has no screen so I had to look up at my monitor. I also seemed to not have the confidence or accuracy to draw my lines too.
- Software. Yeah this one needs a full breakdown. I could not figure out how much other than the base pencil it put me on hahaha.
