At what age is teaching no longer indoctrination?
NC representative Virginia Foxx claimed the 10 year old who wrote the letter to be indoctrinated and for being influenced by propaganda, or at the very least the teacher is more interested in indoctrinating their students (https://myfox8.com/news/north-carolina/greensboro/greensboro-mother-slams-nc-rep-virginia-foxx-for-response-to-10-year-old-sons-essay/). This isn't the first time the rhetoric of kids just regurgitating talking points and not understanding what they're saying has been used. This time with schools being propaganda and indoctrination machines which is another rhetoric in its own.
That said, the question of the title: at what age is teaching no longer indoctrination? At what age are people fully considered fully individual and thus can think critically for themselves in your eyes? I imagine this is complicated and all with many factors, but if you were to give an age, even an age range, that'd be much appreciated. Also, please give a why you think so.
Would it be 18 when people are legally able to vote and/or they're no longer required to go to school? 30s when the prefrontal cortex is fully developed? 50 after an individual has definitely had plenty of life experience? Age doesn't matter, it just matters if they've gone to a trade school/college/run a succesful business?
