Tone Master Pro and Modern Metal
I am 95% sure I want a TMP.
I am a bedroom player with a shrinking practice area, limited time, and a yearning to expand my horizons. My main priority is avoiding choice paralysis and just having fun while playing and practicing at my computer. I feel like the QC and Helix would be too much even if they might get me closer to the tones I am looking for.
I mostly play heavy metal, generes like melodic death medal and metalcore, and have used a 6505mh with a few different cabinets for the better part of a decade. Stomp boxes were limited to a noise gate, tube screamer and a digital delay. I'm a simple man.The 6505 logic board died and I didn't get it fixed because I lost my practice space to my growing family.
For the past 2 years I have been using a Fender mustang lt40s because it was cheap, available and the form factor was perfect for my desk. The tone I was able to get out of the limited options is actually impressive and took very little effort to get a number of patches dialed in. This strength is also its weakness and its limitations are becoming harder to live with.
That amp is what lead me to the TMP. I want to start exploring cleaner tones, play around with more ambient effects, and have the ability to change effects and Amps with the push of a button. Obviously I want some face melting presets in there as well, but I mostly want an all in one box that will sit under/on my desk, output to a pair of monitors and let me play rather then fine tuning or scroll through a million captures.
So here are some questions and concerns.
I'm overthinking this, I know.
Anyone actually playing modern metal on the TMP?
Any concerns with the current lawsuit and future additions to amps and effects or fender abandoning the TMP?
Should I suck it up and get the QC or helix and just deal with the learning curve?
Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated!
