Hello I'd like to ask what is the best way to learn and eventually program nowadays. I've been coding for a year in python and I know some basic stuff such as loops, functions, oop and request library, however, I don't know whether learning to code is still a valid skill in 2026. Because recently I have talked to a software engineer and he told me that he hadn't written a line of code for the past 10 months. So I started questioning myself whether is it still worth learning to code. Whether I should focus more on the ai part: meaning which ai tool does what etc. or still focus on tutorials and learning syntax.

I would really appreciate if you would answer and maybe give me some advice.

When I was 12–13, I had a huge interest in programming and making cool projects (I even made a discord bot). However, after changing schools a few years later, I didn't have enough time to keep learning. Now, a few years after that, I want to get back into coding. I've recently finished the CS50 Python course, so I at least know how to write simple programs.

I'm writing this post to ask: what should I do next? I really want to avoid getting stuck in "tutorial hell" (just watching course after course without building anything). I've read about web scraping and gave it a shot—it wasn't too difficult, and I even built a simple scraper for books.toscrape.com. The problem is, I’m not sure how to progress from here.

Yesterday I also came across Pluralsight, which offers courses on a wide range of tech topics. So, what would you recommend? Should I pay for Pluralsight, or should I stick with web scraping even though I'm not sure where to take it next?

I am writing to inquire if someone would be able to help me decide between computer science or medicine. This year I am graduating at high school and I need to choose a university and my career overall. I have been coding since I was 15 and I know python at least. However these years I've started wondering about medicine. And the elephant in the room rn is AI. Is cs still safe over medicine?
