Games to get me excited to play video games again
I’m about to turn 30 (I know, still young) and over the past few years, I’ve noticed that games I’ve played throughout my life just don’t excite me anymore.
Games I have a ton of hours on but haven’t touched in awhile:
COD- haven’t actually fully grind a COD game in a handful of years
Overwatch- love this game but my skill isn’t there anymore
Battlefield- I still from time to time will play BF6 but the excitement goes away after a few days
GTA V- what’s not to love about GTA? Just don’t have any desire playing a 13 year old game where I’ve already experienced everything
Valheim- love this game but I found that if I don’t play with friends, I won’t play it solo (which is true for a lot of games for me)
Currently, my go to game is Diablo 4. I think I really like the aspect of getting to choose a class and upgrade the gear as I progress through the game. Even though I played through the whole story, I skipped 90% of skippable cut scenes because that stuff just doesn’t excite me- I want to play a game, not watch a movie! I also find D4 very easy to play solo, something I’m trying to get used to more.
Are there other games out there like this- where you choose a class and upgrade the gear/character as you progress?
Since I found myself getting bored or not interested in other games, maybe this type of game is what I enjoy currently?
Edit: I decided to check out The Division 2. I think I ended up playing about 8 hours yesterday and so far, having a good time!
I’d like to eventually broaden my gaming horizon so I’ll come back to this when I need a new game to try out with all your suggestions!
