Hello

Ever since i was a teenager, I always thought i had ADHD or something similar, i definitely allways felt neurodivergent and definitely not neurotypical, now i am in my early 20's and i feel like its time i confirm this.

for reference; in secondary school i had all the checkmarks for this, unorganized, messy, troublemaker etc, i even had "special classes" or learning support, I think about 3rd year i was meant to be tested? but that never happened for some unknown reason

I did horrible in the leaving certificate, sub 200 points, i could never focus or be assed to study but i knew i should, later on i did a PLC and also could never focus and ended up fluking that too.

I was unemployed for quite a while ended up working in McDonalds for a bit, that was fine, just incredibly boring, now i am unemployed again and just feel like at a total loss, i just want to know if there is something wrong with me, I try study for courses and what not but i just cant sit down and learn, I want to read a book or play a video game but i just get distracted, its like i just cant sit down and think straight or concentrate on a book/video game/story/study

I thought i was depressed at first and tried antidepressants with the help of my GP, that didn't work really, it was still the same, i tried a few and nothing helped so i just stopped taking them after a year

I also struggle with food, i hate food, i eat the same thing everyday and just wish i could be normal, i literally only eat takeaway fries and what not, i googled it and thought it could be ADHD related but apperantly its something like ARFID

anyways,, I really want to get tested and potentially treated, i want to be normal, i just want to be able to sit down and read or enjoy something for once, but it seems almost impossible to get treated for ADHD in ireland unless its private but i dont think i could even afford something like that, it seems to cost like €2000....

Im hoping to see where this goes and would appreciate it if you can share your experience and how your diagnosis changed your life?

thank you
