Quick question from a newbie on a stretch -- I've been working on my hip flexibility for a few weeks now and have been regularly doing the frog pose (rocking gently forward and back to widen my hips, etc.) which has been great. I've noticed if I keep my hips wide, but go from all-fours to a sitting position, I can push the stretch further, ending up in what looks like hero's pose, but with my knees wide apart, still keeping my shins parallel on the ground.
It feels like I get a great stretch but I haven't found any mention of this motion. With so many possible stretches for hips and pelvis, I'm not sure if I should be "making things up" as a beginner. If anyone knows the name of this move / has thoughts on if it's a "valid" / beneficial stretch, I'd love to know more, thanks!!
