Which US MEM programs are actually worth it in 2026?

Hey guys!

I’ve been researching a bunch of MEM programs in the US and honestly I’m getting really mixed opinions online.

Some people say these programs are amazing for breaking into PM/consulting/data roles, while others call them “cash cow” programs for internationals. So I wanted some real, unfiltered opinions from people actually studying there or who’ve graduated.

The main programs I’m considering are:

- CMU MISM

- Columbia MS&E

- Duke MEM

- Dartmouth MEM

- Cornell MEM

A little about me: I’m probably more interested in PM / analyst / tech strategy type roles rather than hardcore SWE.

Would love to know things like:

- Which of these are actually worth the money?

- Which have strong placements right now?

- Are some of them overhyped?

- How hard is recruiting for internationals currently?

- Which program has the strongest alumni network/helpful career support?

- Which one would you personally choose today and why?

Also, if there are any current students or alumni here, I’d love to hear your candid experience: the good and the bad, especially the things brochures don’t tell you. ;)
